Here she is...

So I thought this project would be SUPER easy and fast and that I'd have her done in no time... BUT that didn't happen. The painting went quick, but she was in DESPERATE need of some serious love. Here she is though, finally finished.....

I'm so sad, the dresser was missing ONE original handle, which I LOVED, so I had to get new ones, but I guess I'll just have them for another project. These ones fit most the holes perfectly, and I thought they looked pretty cute on it. Probably not my first choice of style, but still cute.

Ok, I know someone had commented on me sharing a "how to" but I just haven't gotten around to it. SOMEDAY I will I promise :). I THOUGHT about it this time, but unfortunately Cam wasn't home when I started it, and let's be honest, the only pictures Taya has taken look like this...

At least she's crossing her feet I guess! So anyway, the next project I promise I'll do it :). And the next one is a good one! I found a china hutch that I love, so hopefully that will get started soon... well, as soon as I can convince Cam to lift it out of his truck! Thank goodness I married a big guy! Who would lift things for me and reach stuff when my stool just doesn't cut it! Thanks babe, love ya! :)

I know you're probably sick of seeing so much white, but we figured it would sell the best so the first few were unfortunately boring. Sorry. The next one will be a different color though so hopefully you won't be too disappointed. Wyoming

A few weeks ago we headed up to Wyoming to see Cam's family... or as he calls it, the "Great White North" :) . It was so relaxing and, of course, great to see everyone!

Cam enjoyed spending time with Roxy...

(ok, let me just say that this dog probably weighs 150lbs and just plopped down on Cam like it was nothin! HA!)

And Taya spent her time in the beautiful flower gardens....

Dodger- Nine Months

Wow, I can't believe the time has gone by so fast! Dodger is 9 months today and still as sweet as ever. Here's a few things about our precious boy...

*He SMILES. And SMILES again. And SMILES again. And again. And again. :)





*He's sitting up and army crawling everywhere, but hasn't quite figured out actual crawling yet!

*FINALLY eating some real food, but I'm pretty sure he's allergic to almost everything :(

*He and Taya have started this thing where they yell back and forth at each other, it's the cutest thing EVER! She'll scream in her high pitched voice and he'll do it back, then back and forth to each other. It's hilarious! I'll have to get it on video asap!

*He hugs me! That sounds lame, I know, but when he hasn't seen me for a few hours he cuddles and lays his head on my shoulder. Such a Momma's boy... and I LOVE it! :)

*He SCREAMS when you take something from him that he's playing with... I think it's because Taya is ALWAYS stealing his toys!

*He LOVES his sister... except when she's pushing him over and stealing his toys! He stares at her and just smiles, it's adorable. If I'm not around he's comforted just knowing that she is.

*He is sooooo TICKLISH!!!

We love our sweet boy, he really is such an angel. I always said it would be SO nice to have a calm baby after Taya, so thank goodness we got so lucky with our precious, happy little boy! :)

Sneak Preview...

So this is the new piece I've been working on. Believe it or not, I saw it and fell in love! I decided to start buying furniture, fixing it up and selling it so, that's right, this baby is FOR SALE! ... That is, if I'm willing to give it up when it's done! :)

Grotto Falls

On Sunday we went hiking with some friends up to Grotto Falls, which turned out to be super cool. The kids had a blast, Dodger was kicking his legs the whole time and Taya, of course, was in heaven. She LOVES being outside! (Guess it's time to invest in some better walking/hiking shoes than crocs :).) It was a beautiful hike, a little bit colder than we thought it would be, but we still had a blast. We're thinking about making this our new Sunday activity.

We can't seem to get Taya to open her eyes when she smiles!


Taya was TERRIFIED of these caves on both sides of us. It took her a long time to warm up, and even then she just clung to Cam the whole time. She still talks about the "scary tunnels". Ha!

The waterfall was so loud Taya was plugging her ears the whole time :)

This is my friend Trisha and her little boy Cannon. Her and her husband went with us. Don't look at the differences in our skin tones :) Poor Dodger looks like a ghost! He must have gotten lucky and inherited the Woodward skin! Sorry baby.

It's About Time!

Eight months later and Dodger is FINALLY starting to sit up on his own! And I thought Taya took a long time! I haven't updated on him in a while, so I thought I'd hurry and do it...

Dodger now has two little teeth and still smiles more than any baby I know. He lights up the room and melts his mommy and daddy with his cute little grin! :) He IS growing... slowly but surely, I guess. At his last appointment (7 months old) he weighed 15.8 lbs, in the 9th percentile and 30th percentile for height. He still won't eat anything and I try pretty much everyday. :( His skin is MUCH better than it used to be, but he still gets allergies or something... who knows! We took him in the hot tub for the first time tonight and he LOVED it!! Can't wait to take him swimming this week! Anyway, here's our little guy at 8 months old...

Oh Taya

Yesterday after just BARELY putting Taya's swimsuit on she got soaking wet outside THEN said she had to go potty... so not wanting to deal with the hassle, I was holding Dodger feeding him at the time, I told her to just go in her suit then rinse off in the little hose toy that we have after. Is that gross? Little did I know the HUGE MISTAKE it would lead us to today...

We just got home from the store and she went in the back gate and I ran into the house cause I had to pee so bad. Too much information, sorry. When I was done I opened the back door and she had her pants and underwear pulled down around her ankles - our conversation went like this:

"Taya! What are you doing?!"
"Taya's naken" (naked)
"I forgot you had to go potty, come inside and I'll take you."
"Taya did."
"You went potty?"
"Yep. Drass." (grass)
"You went potty in the grass?!? Are your pants wet?"
"No, Taya sit down."
"Taya, did you sit down and go potty in the grass?!"
"Yep. Mar-ee doe poddy drass, gunter doe poddy drass, Taya doe poddy too."
(Marley and Gunther are the dogs!)

Who would've thought my simple mistake yesterday would lead to this? Not me. Oopsies... or as Taya would say "soupsie poopsies".

"Honey, are you serious?!?"

So this is my latest project- I bought them for our family room so we could make the room look a little cleaner and hide all of our remotes, cords, movies, books, etc. I just finished them and we brought them in the house yesterday... we love them! :) I was a little nervous about this project since it's laminate, but it turned out so good and hopefully won't get too beat up by Taya! I always love hearing Cam complain about the stuff when he goes to pick it up, "Honey, are you serious? This is the ugliest stuff I've ever seen" is usually what gets said. It always puts a smile on my face :)

So the process went like this, for those of you who are wondering... sanded down the laminate a little, primed once, sanded the top a little, primed again, spray painted 3 coats, glazed (the antique look), then painted 2 coats of polyurethane (a sealer). The handles I sprayed with a metallic spray paint in aged bronze- which I loved by the way. That's it in a nutshell! I was going to take pictures of the whole process this time, but let's be honest, I got too excited and started before realizing I hadn't taken pictures. Sorry! Maybe next time...
