Shea's "New" Bar Stools

My friend, Shea, picked up these beauties on KSL a few weeks ago...
Not the most appealing things you've ever seen (no offense, Shea :) ) but had HUGE potential and definitely a great find! I love all the detail/shapes on them!
She'll kill me for posting these, but this is her working on them :) (yes, I know my garage is a mess!)
And ... Ta Duh! ...

I'm so mad, I thought it would've been SUPER cute to put a decorative piece on the backs of them, but didn't think about it until we were almost finished and by that time you just get excited to be done with it. They turned out so super cute though and I'm excited for her new addition to her kitchen! :) Good job Shea!!

And ps, the credenza/dresser in the background is going to be my next project. It had to be put on hold for a little while, but I'm so excited about it! Still haven't decided what color to paint it so if anyone is in need of something like this and wants to buy it and choose the color and everything please let me know. It's solid wood and probably weighs 350lbs. It's a credenza with 4 drawers (two of which have file holders) and 2 doors that have shelves on the inside. It would be beautiful as an entertainment center, credenza (obviously) or even a dresser if you need it. If you're interested please leave a comment or email me at ashleytreu@gmail.com.

A Dresser For Tiff

Cam's sister asked me to refinish a dresser a couple weeks ago, but she needed it to be upright to fit in their bedroom. I was stoked because I'd been eyeing one on KSL for a while, just waiting for my other projects to be finished. Anyway, after looking at the colors of her room we both decided on cream (shocker, I know). I was pretty excited about this dresser, it turned out so cute. Cam didn't want to let it go, haha! Never thought that day would come! Anyway, here are the before and after pics...

(Yes, it's missing one knob- it was screwed on so tight I couldn't get it undone yet, but was too anxious to take the pictures :) )
Don't you just love these eagle knobs... gag!

Tiff picked up the dresser last night, hopefully she liked it! :)

I've posted previously on my blog about my furniture class and on facebook, but if you haven't seen the info yet and are interested, click here, or really you can just scroll down a bit!

UPDATE ON THE FURNITURE CLASS

Ok, it's official, the date will be Saturday, October 16th, 10:00am-12:00pm at my home for the small price of $35 :) . Please let me know if you're planning on coming as soon as possible. You can either leave me a comment on my blog, facebook, or call, text, or email me (ashleytreu@gmail.com) if you have any questions. I'll be going over pretty much everything you need to know to start refinishing furniture- or whatever it is that you want to refinish! It will be a hands-on class so you'll learn and get a feel for what you're doing and I'll teach you tricks and tips I've learned the hard way :) . Hopefully that date works for any of you who are interested, if not, hopefully this will be the first class of many! Thanks!

Furniture Refinishing Class...

I've had a lot of people ask me about furniture refinishing lately so I'm thinking about teaching a small class in the next few weeks. I'm not sure of any details yet, but please let me know if you are interested at all and if I have enough people I'll do it for sure. Like I said, I'm not sure on details- price, location, date, etc. but if you are wanting to do it please leave me a comment with your email and I can get back to you as soon as I decide. It will probably be in the next few weeks before the weather gets too cold and just a class on beginners/basics of painting. I'm not a professional by any means, but feel like I know enough to help you out a little! :) Thanks!

Happy Birthday Taya!

Taya turned 3 on September 1st! Crazy she's that old already! The morning began like this...

"Taya, do you know what today is?"
(Thinks about it for a second) "It's Taya's Happy Birthday!!" (in a high pitched singing)
"Yeah!"
"Now?"
"Yes, now." :)

She had such a fun day! She opened a couple presents in the morning, then Daddy came home and we showed her the new trampoline the grandparents pitched in to buy her! Can you imagine her excitement!? Well, probably not, but let me just tell you she asks me, literally, every single day if she can go over to our neighbors to jump on their "trampeen" so the money spent was TOTALLY worth it! She jumped ALL morning and ALL afternoon, then ALL during her party. She didn't even want to stop to eat cake or open presents! (so thank you grandma's and grandpa's!!!)

She was so cute all day, she thanked me for everything I did for her! She saw me making her cake and said, "That Taya's burtday cake? Ahhh... that's so sweet, Mommy, thank you."

This was right after she saw the "trampeen". Can you tell how happy she is? :) ...
I don't know why, but this picture cracks me up! Taya's face is hilarious! And poor Dodger! ...
This was at her little Birthday party. Everyone was trying to get her to smile with her eyes open, and after the 2nd picture it ended up hilarious...

Genna & Taya...
Cole, Jace & Taya...
(Don't you love how Taya's leaning into Jace? Looks like they're going to prom :) )

I had such a hard time getting her to bed that night, every time I turned my back she was on her new bike or playing with a different toy! The night ended with prayers, which I wrote down in her journal because I thought they were so cute. They went like this: "Dear Henny Fadder, thank you dis day, thank you trampeen, thank you famy, thank you friends... otsa friends... 1, 2, free, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, ... amen."Apparently she loves her 10 friends :). When I left her room we could still hear her from downstairs singing "Happy Birthday" to herself at 10pm! Haha!

A few things about Taya:

-Taya is such a sweet girl, she's constantly telling me "good job, Mommy", "good girl, Mommy", "you did it, Mommy" and gives me so much encouragement!

-Sometimes she is nice to her brother and makes him laugh hystarically, it's adorable.

-Every night before bed Taya says "scratch my back, Mommy". She LOVES anything scratched and tickled and hates it when we stop.

-Whenever she leaves the room and leaves things behind she says "don't eat Taya's food, Mommy" or "don't touch Taya's ___, Taya be right back". Apparently she thinks I steal her things!"

-Yes, she still talks in third person. We like it though, so maybe we won't try that hard to fix it :)

-She LOVES stories at bedtime and wants "just ooonnneee mmooorree story" every single night!

-She's started asking anyone, anywhere "What's or name?" :)

Happy Birthday Monkey, we love you!

Dodge

This pictures puts both a smile and a frown on my face at the same time. Is that possible?

Smile because, seriously, how can you resist that huge smile and those happy eyes? And frown because the poor little guy still itches so bad and scratches himself like crazy! But at least he's happy! Love you Dodger! You're little smile brightens my day!

(I just noticed the naked barbie on his left... that would be from Taya. Sorry for the inappropriateness!)
